· 05 COVID-19 cases have locally acquired in the last 24 hours – Australian Department of Health
According to the Australian Department of Health, as of 2nd of June 2021, there have been a total of 30,130 COVID-19 cases in all of Australia with an estimation of 118 active cases. In the last 24 hours, 87,280 tests have been taken and 21 infected patients are currently hospitalised. Five patients have been locally acquired in the last 24 hours. However, there were 03 overseas acquired patients in the last 24 hours.

· Fellow GPs of RACGP or ACRRM must hold specialist registration with the Medical Board to access Medicare rebates. – Medical Board of Australia
If you are a Medical Practitioner with RACGP or ACRRM fellowship, but not specialist registration, this update should affect you. To access Medicare rebates, from 16 June 2021, general practitioners with a fellowship qualification from RACGP or ACRRM must hold specialist registration with the Medical Board to access Medicare rebates.
The April update of the Medical Board of Australia states that GP access to Medicare rebates will be linked to specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia after Commonwealth Government changes to the Health Insurance Act 1973.
From June 16th, Services Australia will use AHPRA’s Register of Medical Practitioners to determine GP access to Medicare rebates.

The RACGP successfully urged the government to extend patient access to rebates for telehealth services until 31 December 2021. The RACGP called for additional investment into telehealth, ensuring that it makes healthcare safe and convenient for GPs and patients.
